The Business Problem

A government public health organization needed to model COVID-19 epidemiological data to calculate its spread (R number) during the pandemic. Results were reported weekly to the public and used for critical policy decisions.

The challenge required integrating models from literature and collaborators, setting up robust CI/CD pipelines, and delivering automated, timely reports to stakeholders under extreme pressure.

We developed an integrated epidemiological modeling system that combined multiple approaches and delivered automated, reproducible reports.

Implementation Details

• Internalized epidemiological models from literature and collaborators
• Integrated all models together through a common interface
• Set up CI/CD and deployment pipelines on AWS
• Extracted results, post-processed and visualized into automatically generated reports
• Communicated to stakeholders and helped them in their decision making
• Most work carried out in R, Shell scripting and Jenkins
